Stan Gauger
Stan chose Springfield - twice! After retiring from teaching in New York City, he moved to the Berkshires but wanted more year-round cultural events. He looked into Albany and Springfield and chose Springfield for its music amenities and its proximity to other cultural venues and to ski areas.
After five years, he tried living in Florida but missed skiing enough to return to Springfield. While on a visit, he was shown a 1,200 sq. ft unit in the Kimball Tower condominiums by a friend who lived in the building. Stan looked no further and purchased it. He now regularly attends the Springfield Symphony, Hartford Stage, and even the Boston Symphony - just 90 miles down the Mass Pike - as well as skis in the Berkshires and Vermont. Stan was pleasantly surprised at the ease of making friends on his first move here and on re-establishing ties on his second move.
